Treatment of nail fungus with celandine

Nail fungus is a fairly common disease, which in the initial phase does not create any special problems for a person. However, with the long-term development of pathology, waste products of pathogenic microflora can cause serious intoxication of the body. Many quite effective means are used in the treatment of the disease, among which celandine from toenail fungi stands out.

Properties of celandine

Celandine is a poisonous plant that releases orange juice when the stem breaks. In folk medicine, the plant is used to treat many diseases and is part of various medicines. Given the fact that the plant is considered poisonous, a logical question arises: is it possible to treat nail fungus with celandine?

The plant does not have a negative effect on the organism in cases when it adheres to the prescribed doses in the preparation of the medicinal composition. By using celandine against nail fungus, you can quickly suppress the development of pathogenic microflora. This is due to the fact that the composition of the plant includes the following components:

  • mineral salts;
  • alkaloids that suppress the inflammatory process;
  • vitamins that restore local immunity;
  • essential oils;
  • antibiotics;
  • organic acids;
  • flavonoids.

By treating nail fungus with celandine, it is fashionable to achieve the following results:

  • destroy fungal spores;
  • soften the affected areas of the skin;
  • relieve inflammation;
  • eliminate itching and pain;
  • accelerate the healing of open wounds.

Mountain celandine is considered to be the most effective medicine. However, to cure nail fungus, you can use a plant collected in other areas. In the treatment of the disease it is used in the form of:

  • alcoholic tincture;
  • baths;
  • compression;
  • decoction;
  • oils.

The choice of treatment method mainly depends on the patient's preferences. In any case, you can achieve the same result.

Juice

You can use celandine juice for nail fungus. You must perform the following steps regularly before each treatment session:

  • steam your fingers in hot water;
  • remove the fungal infection on the nail plate with a float or other remedy.

To prepare the juice, it is necessary to pass all parts of the plant through a meat grinder: leaves, stem, flowers. The resulting porridge should be squeezed well. Liquid celandine can be mixed with 70% alcohol in a ratio of 1: 1 (the agent is additionally infused during the day) or used separately.

The resulting solution is applied to the affected areas of the nail plate 1-2 times a day. Treatment with plant juice lasts at least three months and ends after complete restoration of damaged parts of the fingers.

In the warm season, the use of freshly cut celandine juice is recommended. Before applying the medicine on the affected nail, it should be treated with hydrogen peroxide.

Butter

The recipe for making foot fungus oil includes the following components:

  • 1 liter glass jar with lid;
  • 50 grams of freshly sliced celandine;
  • 100-150 ml of sunflower oil, preheated in a water bath, or olive oil.

Celandine nail fungus oil is made as follows:

  1. The plant is pre-washed under running water. After that, it must be exposed on a tray and wait until the grass is completely dry.
  2. Celandine is placed in a glass jar.
  3. The plant is compacted and topped with boiled oil.
  4. The bank is placed in a place inaccessible to sunlight. The drug is infused for a month.
  5. At the end of the allotted time, it is necessary to pass the obtained oil through the gauze.

If desired, the drug can be mixed with lemon juice in a ratio of 1-2 drops of the latter with two tablespoons of the former. These components soften the plate, which makes it easier to remove the affected part. The treatment of nail fungus with celandine oil is completed after the nail has recovered.

You can also use a combination of this tool with 3% vinegar to soften the plate. The proportions in this case are similar to those used when using lemon juice. Obtained by a combination of celandine oil and vinegar, the agent is applied to the affected areas in the form of a compress.

Infusions and decoctions

Alcoholic tincture based on celandine is made from freshly cut herbs. The grass should be pre-washed and dried from moisture. The plant is then mixed with vodka in a ratio of 2: 1. The tincture is aged for 12 days. Other recipes use a combination of 250 ml of 70% alcohol and 20 drops of celandine oil. The composition is infused for no more than one day.

The tool is recommended to be used with great caution, because it has a number of contraindications. Initially, you can apply a maximum of 5 drops of alcohol tincture on the damaged area of the nail plate. In the future, the dose of the drug is gradually increased to 20 drops. The duration of therapy should not exceed two weeks.

To make the decoction, you will also need washed and dried stems and leaves of the plant. All the ingredients are poured into a bowl and poured over boiling water so that the water completely covers the celandine. Then the pan or jar is wrapped in a thick cloth and placed in a dark place. The broth should be infused for five days, after which the product should be filtered through gauze.

To increase the effectiveness of the drug, it is recommended to mix it with olive or vegetable oil in a ratio of 1: 1. This drug is applied 2-3 times a day, and the treatment lasts about two weeks.

To make another decoction, you will also need fresh leaves and stems of celandine, previously dried. 5 tablespoons of the plant should be mixed with 6 mills of water. The composition is then ignited and cooked for a few minutes. Upon completion of the last phase, the product is diluted with cold water, bringing to room temperature. The decoction is applied to the affected areas of the nail and left to stand for 30 minutes. This method of treatment is supplemented with antifungal ointments.

Compresses

Therapeutic compresses derived from celandine are mainly used in the later stages of the disease, when the fungus has affected the deep structures of the nail plate. This tool softens the affected area, which is why the therapeutic components easily penetrate deep.

A product obtained by mixing iodinol and previously crushed dry celandine is used for the coating. The product thus obtained is applied in a small amount on the damaged nail plate and covered with cellophane. Compression should be kept for more than 20 minutes. At the end of the procedure, it is not recommended to soak your fingers for 3-4 hours.

After the coating, it is recommended to treat the damaged nail plate with antifungal ointment. To achieve the best effect, it is recommended to perform the procedure before bedtime.

That's right

Baths are mainly used to prevent the development of fungal infections. To prepare them, you need to perform the following steps:

  • prepare 5 tablespoons of dried celandine and pour it with 1, 5 liters of boiling water;
  • the composition is put back on the stove and cook for 5 minutes;
  • the product is diluted with cold water.

The duration of each session with the use of therapeutic baths does not exceed 20 minutes.

In the treatment of pathology in recent times often used a drug based on alkalis from fungi. This tool is sold in many pharmacies and is used to remove various skin lesions, including papillomas and corns. The plant itself is not included in the composition of the product. The drug is mainly used as an adjunct in the treatment of fungi. It is able to stop the development of the inflammatory process and partially relieve itching.
